For many of us, tidying up, mucking out and disposing of waste is an unpleasant topic, because nobody likes doing it. But if you manage to motivate yourself and start clearing out, with a lot of luck you can not only create order, but also earn money with unused objects. So that you don’t lose your motivation during your clean-up campaign, we have summarized a few tips and approaches for successful implementation below. Ready… get set… GO!

How do we best approach our new project?

Sufficient motivation is the be-all and end-all – if we are not properly and sufficiently motivated, every beginning is more than just difficult. A particularly tempting reward can help here! For example, after completing a successful clearing campaign, you can reward yourself with the fulfillment of a long-awaited wish or a delicious dinner. There is no limit to the type of reward.

The right atmosphere makes everything easier – put on your favorite music and take regular breaks, because your project will only end successfully if you stay in a good mood. A good motivation can, for example, be just the thought of the so coveted end result and the reward set for it.

Set yourself interim goals – “Briefly clean out the whole apartment today” is a goal, but it is very likely that it will be difficult to achieve. In order not to overwhelm oneself too quickly and lose the desire to tidy up, it makes sense to set achievable interim goals. So start with a part of your room, once this is done you deserve a little break. You then work your way through your apartment step by step. If you don’t reach your daily goal today, that’s no reason to give up, thorough cleaning up takes a lot of time and can therefore last several days.

Stay focused – It happened quickly, it all started with a thought and suddenly you’re completely lost. To prevent this from happening, you can dare yourself with a small challenge. Estimate how long it will take you to clear out this compartment and set a timer on your cell phone. Who do you think will win? You or your timer?

With a plan and system – simply storing things in a drawer, a box or a storage compartment without a fixed place is pretty pointless and usually leads to renewed chaos in a very short time. For long-term order, it is advisable to use suitable order systems and storage boxes. These are easy to write on and create order in even the most chaotic room. Smaller drawer systems and storage boxes can also be easily accommodated in boxes and drawers.

Everything in its place – who doesn’t know it? If you are looking for something, you will definitely not find it. But the search is over now! Now that every piece of paper and every object, no matter how small, has a specific and assigned place, long searches are just a waste of time. A good and clear arrangement can make a lot of things easier for us and save a lot of time.

Even small things can still bring in money – often, especially when cleaning out, you will find numerous and long-awaited necessary documents. Among the many finds there are also small treasures that can either be disposed of when not in use or sold at a good price. Such small income fills up your household budget properly. And selling is comparatively easy these days – either in the classic way at a flea market or on the numerous online platforms.

Order is half of life – so don’t waste your valuable time unnecessarily searching for missing documents or objects, create order right from the start and there will be no time-wasting searches. Your time is precious and should be used for more worthwhile purposes.
