Become a minimalist in just one week

You have already read our recently published blog article “Minimalism as a lifestyle”, have you been fed up with your material life for a long time and now want to focus on a more conscious, happier and simpler life?

Then we have just the right challenge for you!

Become a minimalist in just one week

Transform your material and consuming life into a better, happier and more conscious lifestyle in just seven days. Don’t waste time and start making the change today.

No time, no money and no motivation?

You hardly have time, you are always on the move, your savings are very small and your motivation is almost non-existent? Then it’s high time to change something and get your life, your motivation and your joy in the present back.

Have you ever dealt with the subject of minimalism? Because minimalists are by no means the bane of the fun – they just like to let go and thus part with the things that you can safely do without in your life.

If the topic of minimalism hasn’t told you anything yet, we strongly recommend that you read our first blog article “Minimalism as a lifestyle” and return here for the implementation and the change to a more conscious life. If you have already devoured and read this with joy, you can of course start implementing it immediately and continue with our seven-day challenge.

In seven days to more freedom

Mucking out sounds like a lot of work at first, but if you split it up over the seven days of the week you have available, it’s not as complicated as it sounds at first. Once you get started, it’s actually a lot of fun. With our tips you will have more time, more money and more motivation in just one week.

Monday: What are your goals in life?

You don’t even have to lift a finger for this first step. In the center of today we are only concerned with the following question:

“What is really important to you in your life?” More time, enough exercise, impressive trips, an effective job or just a well-decorated apartment? No matter what it is, minimalism does not exclude any lifestyle. This is by no means about renunciation, but simply about tidying up and decluttering your life. In short, you just let go of all the things and things that stress you out more than they help you.

Tuesday: It’s time to get rid of all that junk data!

Your cell phone memory is full again and you already know all your pictures, songs and files inside out? Then it’s time to sort out and minimize this data clutter that you carry around with you every day.

To do this, save all important memories in a fixed place, for example on an external hard drive or a stationary computer, and delete the rest from your cell phone. If you’re thinking that this approach is only good for your phone, you’re wrong, your computer, hard drive, and address book will also be happy with less clutter.

Wednesday: The 30 day trick reveals what you really need!

A very simple trick to realizing which items are really needed in your life is to put aside and keep everything that you have held in your hand in the last 30 days. Everything that has not found its way into your hands during this period can be sold, disposed of and sorted out with a clear conscience. Because these are objects from an earlier time that no longer fit into your lifestyle.

Thursday: Is that a really important appointment?

In order to have more time for yourself in your free time, you should also become more minimalist in your free time. Are there appointments in your schedule that you only take on to please others? Reduce these mandatory appointments to a healthy minimum and thereby create time for the things that you really enjoy. Of course, you shouldn’t become a loner by doing this, just reduce your contacts to the people in your life who are really important to you.

Friday: Everything has to be in its place!

In order to waste less time searching in the future, every item left in the household has been given a fixed and assigned place after it has been sorted out. After all, your cutlery is always in the cutlery drawer, right? For all the items that have not yet been assigned a fixed place, you can now take your time and look for a suitable place.

Saturday: Only buy what you really need!

In order not to fall back into old patterns, you can ask yourself a very specific question before each new purchase: “Do I really need this item and does my survival and happiness depend on it?” If you can answer this question with YES, a purchase of this subject is quite plausible. With all this conscious shopping, however, you must not forget that groceries are excluded from this regulation and question. Nevertheless, a look in your pantry can be worthwhile, so you should first use up the food packages you have started and then make new purchases.

Sunday: Take time for your new and tidy self

Now you can see what’s left after all the sorting. Even if half is missing, there is still a lot and that makes you grateful because that is what you really need. You will soon realize that the feeling of having more time and space for yourself and the things that are really good for you is indescribably beautiful.
